NE-020 History of Nehoiden Book 1893-2005
This is the story of how golf at Wellesley started on the College campus in 1893 and evolved into a nine-hole, 2,719-yard layout that has basically remained unchanged since 1964. The book describes the hanges leading to the current course layout on a hole-by-hole basis. Golf has always been a popular sport at the College, and a game that the membership‹consisting of Wellesley faculty, employees, and townspeople has remained devoted to. The book also explores the landscaping and grounds, provides profiles of many of the people involved with the course, includes personal tributes to the course, and even describes the varied uses that it is put to other than golf.
